NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS WEEK - APRIL 10TH - 16TH 2016!!!

Volunteers play an important role at NSJ. Everyday family members, community members, corporate volunteers, and college students enter our building with one goal in mind: to help our students achieve success. Volunteers enrich our school and our students' educational experience. We are very grateful for all of the volunteers we currently have and are always looking for more volunteers to help make our school a better place to learn and grow.

How to volunteer

  • Fill out an application online or the volunteer application. (http://volmps.mpls.k12.mn.us/ )
  • Attend a Minneapolis Public School Volunteer Orientation or the on-site orientation at Nellie Stone Johnson
  • Following the orientation, there will be an interview with the volunteer coordinator either on-site or over the phone
  • Once we have contacted your references and a background check is completed (if you are working directly with students) you will be placed with a faculty or staff member
  • Begin volunteering
